It's National Pet Month - bring your doggy on holiday!

Here at Bunn Leisure, we are animal lovers and what better way to celebrate National Pet Month than bringing your four-legged friend to stay with us at one of our holiday villages.

Our exclusive mile-long beach is a pooch’s paradise, a place to paddle and splash in the waves or trot along the shore in the sea breeze. Likewise, the 300-acre park is ideal for an afternoon roam around on the lead, taking in new sights and smells! There are all sorts of doggy-delights to keep their tails wagging!

Nearby, there are plenty of dog-friendly destinations as well as events, so whilst you’re here with us, why not explore the local area?

West Dean Gardens is a beautiful location nestled at the foot of South Downs National Park. It is not far from us, in Chichester, West Sussex and the perfect place for a gentle walk with your dog. The gardens are open to the public February to December and dogs must be kept on a lead.

Paws in the Park is a dog-tastic day out coming to Ardingly, West Sussex on the 18th to 19th May. It’s fun for all the family, with dog shows, games, and pet shopping as well as have-a-go activities such as dog agility!

Petworth Park’s 700-acre landscape is a grand adventure for your doggy, just 40-minutes from us. There are many paths to explore all year round and dogs are allowed off the lead. Be aware that dogs are not allowed in Petworth House or café – but there’s a lovely pub nearby welcome to dogs, The Hollist Arms.

Peaceful nature reserve Pagham Harbour is right on our doorstep and stretches along the Sussex coast. The RSPB reserve is a dog walkers dream, with miles of countryside and stunning views of the Isle of Wight, on a clear day.

Woof Walkies Bournemouth is back! The 5k sponsored walk, raising money for cancer research is returning to Moors Valley Country Park in Ashley Heath on April 28th. You and your pup can have some fun, exercise and contribute to a great cause – an amazing way to celebrate all that our furry friends do for us!

Amberley Museum’s 36-acre site is just a short drive from Selsey and a great place for a stroll with your pooch. Dogs are allowed on a short lead in all of the exhibits – they can even take a ride on the narrow-gauge railway!

To make sure we provide the best accommodation for you and your pooch, all you need to do is let us know you are bringing them – up to two dogs allowed! The cost per dog, to stay with us is £30, that’s less than the price of a couple of nights at a kennel! (Unfortunately, our holiday cottages do not accept dogs).

Please also bring a vaccination certificate and your dog basket to avoid them snoozing on beds or chairs. Dogs are not allowed in the entertainment complexes and should be exercised on a lead.

National Pet Month commemorates responsible pet ownership and its benefit to our health and well-being. So, if you hate leaving your dog at home when you go away, why not bring them along?
