Very Important Visitor

As VIPs go they don’t come more special than little Harmonie-Rose Allen, who we were delighted to have staying with us at Bunn’s Selsey Park for a well-earned break with her family.

Harmonie, who is two-and-a-half, hit the headlines in 2014 after she fought off an horrific meningitis infection which forced surgeons to remove the lower part of her arms and legs and the tip of her nose. The illness struck just ten days after this beautiful little girl had taken her first steps…

Her parents, Freya Hall and Ross Allen of Bath, were told she had a less than ten percent chance of survival but the toddler battled through – and just look at her now!

Harmonie has prosthetic legs and is already able to enjoy many activities, including cooking and playing with her doll.

During her time at Bunn the sun shone and, says her mum: “Harmonie had an amazing week, so much so that she didn’t want to come home. We visited the aquarium, Peppa Pig world, the beach, the swimming pool and not to forget the incredible entertainment – Cinderella and goldilocks were just a few of our favourites”

Harmonie was staying in Milagros, the caravan run by the Miracles charity, to provide a respite or adventurous break for families whose children are undergoing treatment for leukaemia and other life-threatening disorders, or who are otherwise in need of a relaxing holiday.

The Miracles Caravan is situated very close to the Waterfront Complex and just a few yards from the extensive beach and beautiful nature reserve.

Miracles families all receive passes to the Waterfront Leisure Complex with its many bars, restaurants, shops, clubs and first class entertainment, plus The Oasis swimming and leisure pools. They are also treated to a free session at the West Sands Fun Fair and Saltings Diner.
