Meet our runner-up… Bryony-Rose

We would like to congratulate our Bunn Leisure’s Got Talent runner-up! Bryony-Rose, who sang Roberta Flack's 1972 classic 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’, popped in for a chat after the show…

Q: Hello Bryony, lovely to meet you! Where are you from?

A: Hello, it’s great to be back. I’m from Worthing in West Sussex.

Q: How old are you?

A: I’m 16 years old.

Q: What is your favourite subject at college?

A: I have just started my first year at college studying Performing Arts Musical Theatre. My favourite lesson has to be singing, although when I was at school it was drama.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about singing?

A: I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when singing on stage – especially after all of the time I’ve spent rehearsing and working towards my performance. I also enjoy listening to the feedback people give me after my performance.

Q: How often do you visit Bunn Leisure?

A: My great grandma owns a caravan here so I visit for a week every year with all of my family.

Q: So the performance… how did it feel singing in front of all of those people?

A: I actually felt really nervous backstage – I had been unwell all of that week so I was worried about      coughing on stage. Luckily, once I was on the stage I completely relaxed and it was amazing being able to perform to so many people – especially Darren Day!

Q: You sang Roberta Flack's 1972 classic 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face – what made you pick this song?

A: It was my dad who suggested this song to me – it is one of his favourites. I also saw James Arthur perform a cover of it on the X Factor and thought it was beautiful, therefore I gave it a go and loved it.

Q: Can you tell me a little bit about your singing and how you got into it?

A: I have always had a love for singing – I took part in my first competition at the age of three. I sang ‘’What shall we do with the drunken sailor?’’ dressed up as a pirate and actually beat my big sister to first place. When I reached aged six I started having singing lessons and it just took off for me from there.

Q: Have you entered any other competitions?

A: I have taken part in every talent competition at Bunn Leisure since I was 10 years old. In 2013 I won the final Dream Factor for my category before it changed to Bunn Leisure’s Got Talent. In 2013 I also performed in the grand final of Teenstar – held in the O2 arena in London. My latest achievement is that I won the audience vote in the finals of the West End Calling, where I got the opportunity to perform on a West End stage.

Q: So Bryony-Rose… what’s next for your career?

A: My dream career would be to perform in a West End show eight times a week because I love musical theatre, singing, acting and dancing. After finishing college, my ambition is to go to a drama school in London to continue studying musical theatre so I have the best shot at achieving my dream.

Q: Let’s finish up there then, thanks for popping in to see us! Will we see you again next year?

A: Yes of course – counting down the days already.
